Project description:

The project will undertake joint research into the regional economy, including impacts of Covid-19 on major industry sectors to develop strategies to support, recover, identify and leverage areas of strength and opportunities to grow.

To date, a preliminary paper has been completed looking at underlying project trends and pandemic impacts.

The ERG will lead a Metropolitan Partnership funded project to explore opportunities for the Health Innovation and Care Economy, which is a growing sector in the region.

Yarra Ranges and Whitehorse councils are also progressing their own economic development studies while the ERG scopes options from a research, advocacy and/or engagement perspective to determine how we may usefully contribute to a stronger jobs future for the eastern region.
